Prices are from Egg Clearinghouse, Inc., (ECI) Durham, N.H. and
reflect trading prices for gradable nest run eggs (GNR) on ECI, a nation
wide trading center for producers, packers and marketers. GNR eggs are
classified by weight in 30-dozen cases, and traded in lots of either 300 or
750 cases. Prices are FOB buyers dock, and are computed Tuesday and
Thursday of each week. This week’s prices for each classification were:

Market Comment: Movement on
RTC whole birds ranges from fair
to good and is generally sufficient
to keep most plants in satisfactory
balance. Breasts and cutlets are
adequate overall, but an improved
call was noted in some quarters.
Other items in good balance and
clearing fairly well.
Slaughter schedules are
moderately heavy. Live supplies
are light to mostly adequate.
Weights remain irregular, but
overall the weights have in
creased. Undertone steady.
Today’s L.T.L. asking prices are
unchanged on U.S. Grade A at 61-67
cents.

mediums, unchanged on the
balance. Cartoned egg movement
is fair to good with the best
demand centering on retail
promotions. Large and heavier
weight eggs are fully adequate to
ample. Mediums are adequate at
best. Undertone unsettled on large,
steady on mediums.
