After a rather poor showing a week ago, traypack apples are showing a marked increase this week over last week. Prices remain stable. Apple sales for last week, from nine packer shippers, shows movement of 22,930 cartons of bagged apples and 3,837 cartons of traypacked apples. Because of the National Peach Council Meetings now being held, some of the growers-shippers were not able to be contacted for a report and consequently, it is safe to assure that the figures for bagged apples is lower than it really is. Your Board feels, from the figures reported during the past two weeks, which was the order period for the promotion, that our goal of 100,000 cartons can be achieved. Thanks to all of you who have helped in this promotion.
