and also within 75 miles from the

self-help measures to
improve the production,
storage and distribution
of farm commodities.
The measures contained
in the agreement will be
used to support studies
relating to agricultural
policies and to plan and
implement policy
changes. These
measures include
studies of production in
rainfed areas and ac
tions to advance
agricultural research
and extension efforts.
Today’s agreement
follows the an
nouncement on Dec. 15,
of a $244 million blended
credit program with
Morocco for the pur
chase of U.S. wheat.
That program included
$209.4 million in credit
guarantees and $34.6
million in interest-free
government credits.
Sales of U.S. Farm
products to Morocco in
fiscal 1983 were $2lB
million, chiefly wheat,
com and tobacco.
