Directions to farm: From Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, drive south
on U.S. Business Route 15, known as the Emmitsburg Road, five
miles, and turn right (to the west) on Legislative Route 01002,
known as Cunningham Road, for one mile.
Pursuant to an Order of the Court of Common Pleas of Adams County,
Pennsylvania, dated February 1, 1984, in the case of Ettore Volta and
Georgia Volta, husband and wife, Plaintffs, vs. Pasqual A. Don Vito and
Mary Louise Don Vito, husband and wife, Defendants, No. 81-S-574, In
Equity, for partition of real estate, the undersigned Court-appointed
Master will offer at public sale on Saturday, March 10,1984, at 1:00 p.m., on
the premises, ALL that tract of land situate in Freedom Township, Adams
County, Pennsylvania, containing 164 acres, more or less, more par
ticularly described in the deed from Edward Gass and Elsie M. Gass,
husband and wife, to Pasqual A. Don Vito and Mary Louise Don Vito,
husband and wife, and Ettore Volta and Georgia Volta, husband and wife,
dated April 16,1966, and recorded in the office of the Recorder of Deeds of
Adams County, Pennsylvania, in Deed Book 256 at page 202.
There are approximately 153 acres of tillable land or pasture and ap
proximately 11 acres of woods and buildings.
Said tract of land has approximately 2,000 feet of frontage on both sides of
Legislative Route 01002, known as Cunningham Road, and approximately
700 feet of frontage on the eastern side of Township Road T-328, known as
Schriver Road. Plum Run runs through the property, and Marsh Creek
forms the eastern boundary line of the property.
Said tract is improved with a 36’ x 31’ two and one-half story brick farm
house with attached 18’ one and one-half story brick wing and a 17’ x 20’ one
story brick summer house. Other improvements on the property are a 48’ x
109’ native stone and frame bank bam, a one-car frame garage, a com
bination equipment shed and comcrib, an old 34’ x 24’ “L” shaped two
story tenant house, and other frame utility buildings.
The sale of the property is subject to confirmation by the Court of Common
Pleas of Adams County, Pennsylvania.
The highest bidder shall be required to make a down payment of 10% of the
purchase price as soon as the bidding has been concluded. The balance of
the purchase price shall be due and payable as soon as the sale has been
confirmed by the aforesaid Court.
