HARRISBURG - The Com
mittee on Agriculture and Rural
Affairs of the Pa. House of
Representatives is scheduled to
continue work this week on a
proposed bill to create an
Agricultural Development
Authority in the Commonwealth.
The Committee is scheduled to
meet Tuesday to consider some
million, which would be designed
to provide loans to farmers for a
number of reasons, such as helping
in the transfer of farms to a
younger generation, helping in the
transition of a farm from one type
of operation to a more viable type
or even in unusual situations, like
the Avian flu disaster.
Also, in addition to making loans
the proposed Authority could
guarantee loans of commercial
