Market Comment: While ready
to cook movement on whole birds
has improved in most quarters, it
still remains somewhat sluggish
and not up to expectations. Whole
birds are clearing, but carryovers
are still noted in several quarters.
Parts are moving much better
than whole birds with legs and leg
quarters noted as the least movers.
Slaughter is light overall as an
occasional plants is not operating
today. Live supplies are adequate
at lighter than desired weights.
Undertone is steady.
Today’s L.T.L. asking prices are
unchanged on U.S. Grade A at .61-

Wednesday, February 1
Report supplied by USDA
Market Comment: Prices are
unchanged to generally higher.
However, pricing within the
quarantine area is at sharply lower
differentials compared to pricing
outside the area. The availability
of live birds is spotty and plants
only run parttime schedules. Most
plants indicate live supplies will be
limited for weeks to come.
Light Type Hens: 24-25.

Because of the Current dangers of spreading the
Avian Flu virus from farm to farm, representatives
from Moyer’s Chicks, have been making themselves
scarce. We are, however, as close as the nearest
phone, and we are working hard at co-ordinating
supplies for customers within the Q-Zone and for
those without and those out of state.
Whatever your requirements are for chicks, pullets,
or set dates, we’d like to put something together for
you. BUT don’t delay: Supplies and Hatch Dates are
limited.
