Movement this past week remains about stable, with 16,039 cases of bagged apples and 2,359 cases of traypack apples being sold. These figures represent sales of 13 represen tative growers, packers and shippers. By now, you should have received information from the Apple Marketing Board outlining the spring apple promotion on 12/3# poly-bagged apples. This promotion has the potential to move a large quantity of 12/3 bagged apples. The Board’s Marketing Representative, Kay Swartz, has been contacting the buyers from independent stores as well as from the major chains in Pennsylvania and reports getting favorable results from these contacts.
