Delmarva Poultry
Thursday, January 12
Report supplied by USDA
Market Comment: Ready to
cook movement on whole birds is
good overall. Current production is
well cleared in most quarters and
some plants continue to cut orders.
Leg and leg quarters are short
while other items moved into a
better balance under an improved
call.
Slaughter schedules are heavy.
Live supplies are adequate.
Weights are trending lighter with
several plants running lighter than
desired weights. Undertone is firm
but cautious.
Today’s L.T.L. asking prices are
unchanged to 1 cent higher on U.S.
Grade A at 60-65 cents.

fryers in Delmarva (000).

Philadelphia Eggs
Thursday, January 12
Report supplied by USDA
MARKET COMMENT: Prices
unchanged to higher. Cartoned
orders remain fairly good and are
at least average. Jumbos are in a
surplus position while extra large
remain average in most quarters
but not to the degree of jumbos.
Large are adequate. Mediums and
smalls are short of full-trade
needs. The availability of nest runs
is spotty, and the only class offered
to any degree is class I’s.
