LVF Princess Ann, a summer
yearling exhibited by Eugene
Moore of R 1 Warriors Mark, was
named the champion Chianina
female. A member of the State
College FFA Chapter, Eugene
bought his animal from Lake View
Farm in East Berlin. The heifer is
one of five Chianinas that he owns.
The reserve honors went to
Gregg Christman Jr., of Sollen
berger Road, Chambersburg and
his senior yearling, Whitewood
Miss 4412. Gregg is a member of
the Chambersburg FFA Chapter.
John P. Hausner’s homebred
junior yearling heifer, JPH Dut
chal Miss, was named the
champion Hereford female. John,
13, is a member of the York County
4-H Beef Club and has been
showing cattle for 7 years. He
currently owns a herd of 12 polled
Herefords.
Winning reserve honors in the
Hereford class was Jacqueline
Kirschner, of R 2 Monongahela,
and her junior calf, SJF Miss

FARM SHOW - When Jan Waltz
named his steer “Champ,” he had
no idea that the animal would live
up to its name - and in a very big
way.
A young cattleman from
Manheim, Lancaster County, Jan
captured the grand champion title
at the Junior Beef Steer Show held
during the Farm Show Thursday.
Named the heavyweight class
winner, the champion weighed 1330
pounds.
Jan, a junior at Manheim
Central and a member of the Red
Rose 4-H Beef Club, purchased his
winner from the Spring Meadows
Ranch. Champ is an Angus-
Chianma-Charolais-Hereford cro
ss.
The reserve grand champion
title was earned by Greg Davis of
R 4 Coatesville, Chester County.
Greg’s 1225-pound Angus-cross
was also the champion of the light
heavyweight class.
Michelle Dean of R 1 Strasburg,
Lancaster County, and her 1250-
pound entry were the reserve
winners in the light heavyweight
class.
In the lightweight division, Jason
Kutz, of R 4 Carlisle, Cumberland
bounty, won the championship
title. His steer weighed 1085
pounds. Michelle Nissley, of El
Mt Joy, Lancaster County, earned
the reserve spot with her 1140-
pound steer.
The middleweight champion title
went to Cathy Shive, of El Seven
Valleys, York County. Cathy’s
steer weighed 1205 pounds. The
reserve title was won by Kenianne
Eanck, of E 2 Reading, Berks
County, and her 1185-pound steer.
