Market Comment: Trading is
very limited with spotty sales
noted at 27 cents delivered into
processing plants. The high egg
market coupled with restrictions in
the quarantine area has restricted
the available supply of live to very
light levels. Canner pack
movement is slow.

Philadelphia Eggs
Thursday, January 5
Report supplied by USDA
MARKET COMMENT; Prices
unchanged. Cartoned movement is
still fairly good, but traders have
noticed a tapering of cartoned
orders back to normal levels.
Jumbos and extr? large are in
surplus with both graded loose and
carton stocks easily available
locally. Large are generally
adequate or in balance, but there is
a fresh call for class I’s. However,
this demand is not as aggressive as
before, and pricing is sifting back
to normal relationships. Mediums
are no more than adequate, and
some packers are still short and
looking for class 3’s. Smalls are
short of full-trade needs.
Undertone is steady.
Prices to retailers; sales to
volume buyers, consumer grades
white eggs in cartons delivered
store door:
A Extra Large 1.10-1.14; A Large
1.08-1.13; A Medium 1.06-1.10.
Delmarva Poultry
Thursday, January 5
Report supplied by USDA
Market Comment: Ready to
cook movement on whole birds is
much improved in most quarters
and processors indicate orders
have picked up due to first of
month buying interest. Leg and leg
quarters are meeting an improved
inquiry particularly for next week.

Because of the Current clangers of spreading the
Avian Flu virus from farm to farm, representatives
from Moyer's Chicks, have been making themselves
scarce. We are, however, as close as the nearest
phone, and we are working hard at co-ordinating
supplies for customers within the Q-Zone and for
those without and those out of state.
