    TOWANDA - The Sulbra
(Sullivan and Bradford County)
Crop Management Association
recently held its first annual
meeting in Wysox.
The Association’s financial
situation was explained by
Treasurer Jasper Smith of Canton.
Smith indicated that at the com
pletion of the first fiscal year the
organization was solvent and
financially successful in meeting
all committments.
Nelson Wells of Shesheqmn, Vice
President of the Association’s
Board of Directors’ reported on the
membership status. According to
Welles, the Association now has 29
members and approximately 5,900
acres enrolled. The Association is
expected to grow rapidly when the
financial climate for dairy farmers
improves.
Gary Polly of Troy, Crop
Management Technician, reported
to members details of his in
volvement during the year. He
explained his schedule of work,
what needed to be done at various
times of the year, why schedules
were altered peak times of soil
sampling etc. Gary indicated also
how he expected his work schedule
to be during 1984 after one year of
experience.
Statewide crop association eyed
A 1 Homan, Bradford County
Extension Agent, reported on the
history and progress during the
past year explaining the growth of
the Association and the steps and
extensive work done by the Board
of Directors to form the
Association. He explained the
possible formation of a statewide
association with a fulltime
manager to assist county
associations with problems, direct
training for technicians and

wool will be on display at the show
for visitors to sample and view.
Pennsylvania foods will be
highlighted in the Pennsylvania
Food Marketplace in the lower
concourse of the large arena and at
booths sponsored by state com
modity associations on the main
exhibition floor.
