Outstanding Conservationists honored by the Dauphin County Conservation District

Dauphin County presents
HARRISBURG - Each year the
Dauphin County Conservation
District combines their December
Directors’ Meeting with a Con
servation Awards Program.
Recognition is given to individuals
who have made outstanding
personal contributions in the field
of conservation.
At the recent Districts’s Awards
Dinner in Halifax, four special
presentations were made.
George Moore of Millersburg
received a Distinguished Service
Award for 32 years of volunteer
service, 27 years as a District
Director. His interests in con
servation education and soil
conservation have helped make
the Dauphin Conservation District
one of the most respected Districts
in Pennsylvania.
Aaron Hoffer from Middletown
also received a Distinguished
Service Award for his 25 years of
volunteer service as a District
Director. His commitment to soil
conservation on his own farm and
through out the county has helped
the Dauphin Conservation District
become recognized as a leader in
the field of soil conservation.
Robert Megonnell of Dauphin
received an Environmental
Educator Award for his out
standing volunteer efforts over the
last eleven years as the Ad
ministrator of the Dauphin County
