HARRISBURG More than
2,300 animal exhibits and a record
300 commercial exhibitors will fill
the 14-acre Farm Show Complex
for the 68th Annual Pennsylvania
Farm Show during the coming
week in Harrisburg.
Sights and sounds of
“Agriculture: The Pride of Penn
sylvania” will abound, as
exhibitors from across the nation
arrive with their prize livestock
and latest in farm technology.

Milking and mastitis schools
LANCASTER A two-day
Milking and Mastitis Prevention
School will be held January 17 and
18, 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the
Quarryville Fire Hall.
Mastitis is one of the costliest
problems facing most dairymen.
Experts estimate losses to be
about $2OO per cow per year.
This two-day school will help
farmers leam more about the
nature of mastitis infections.
Emphasis will be on prevention
and treatment.
The development, support and
repair of the cow’s udder will be
explained along with the
phenomenon of milk secretion and
milk let-dowr
Milking systems and milking
techniques will also be discussed.
Classroom instruction will be
combined with farm visits.
