Miller selected for committee
HARRISBURG A member of
Sen. Edward W. Helfrick’s staff
has been personally invited to
serve as a member of the Penn
sylvania Agribusiness Award
selection committee by the state’
Secretary of Agriculture.
According to Helfrick, Sheila
Miller, who serves as research
analyst to the Senate Agriculture
and Rural Affairs Committee, will
be helping to select the
agribusiness firm which excelled
in the promotion of Pennsylvania
agriculture through the “We’re
Growing Better” or “Keystone
Pride” logos. This year six firms
have been nominated as can
didates for the annual award, in its
fourth year.
In asking Miller to serve,
Secretary Hallowell stated in a
letter: “Your knowledge and in
volvement in Pennsylvania’s
agriculture/agribusiness industry
makes you ideal for the Penn
sylvania Agribusiness Award
selection committee.”
Miller is a graduate of Penn
State’s College of Agriculture and,
with her husband, operates a
purebred beef farm. She has been
a member of Helfrick’s Harrisburg
office staff since April 1983.
Previous to her employment with
the Senate, Miller was editor of
Lancaster Farming newspaper.
She was also an employee of the
U.S. Department of Agriculture’s
Soil Conservation Service from
1974-79.

Kubota’s mid-sized tractors are very versatile.
You’ll find them at work on farms, in parks, nurseries,
estate homes and even on construction sites.
The reason is simple. Our mid-sized L-Scries
tractors come with features you’d expect to find only
on bigger, heavier machines.
For example, sturdy 3-cylinder diesel engines.
Horsepower from 12 to 29 PTO. Hydraulic shuttle
shift. 2- or 4-wheel drive. A hefty 3-point hitch.
And more.
