Delmarva Poultry
Thursday, November 10
Report supplied by USDA
Market Comment; RTC
movement on whole birds is fair to
generally good with some plants
reported to be in an oversold
position. Cutlet movement is
satisfactory. Rib breasts are
moving fair at best in retail and
distributive channels but most
plants are easily able to siphon off
any surplus products as line runs.
Leg and leg quarters are well
cleared. Wings improved slightly.
Overall slaughter is heavy. While
several plants still remain closed
for Fri. others have reconsidered
and are now operating. Live
supplies are adequate. Weights are
in a wide range. Undertone is fully
steady to fair but cautious.
Today’s L.T.L. asking prices are
sharply higher on U.S. Grade A at
.56-.61 cents.

MARKET COMMENT: Prices
unchanged to sharply higher.
Cartoned egg orders are heavy in
most quarters as movement is
fairly good overall plus many
traders are trying to build in
ventories predicted on previous
markets. Buying interest is active
particularly for heavier weight
nest runs. Offerings are light and
confidently held where available.
Undertone is fairly steady to firm.
