Arena Restaurant, Wilkes Barre.
4-H’ers attending were: Cliff

Shaffer, RD3, Lake Ariel; Bill
Adziarski, John Zdziarski and
Tricla Zdziarski, all from RD2,
Waymart.
These five 4-H’ers are members
of the Kountry Kids 4-H Club.
Other 4-H’ers attending this event
included: Kelly Savitz, from RDS
Lake Ariel, and Colleen Hughes,
RD2, Waymart, both members of
the South Canaan Saddle Club. Jim
Yatsonsky, Kountry Kids 4-H club
leader, also attend this 4-H event.

Lackawanna, Schuylkill and
Monroe Counties participated in a
4-H Local Government event call

topic was “Solid Waste Disposal.”
The 4-H members had an op
portunity to better understand the
role of local and state government
in regulating and achieving solid
waste disposal. They also learned
the different alternatives for
solving solid waste problems. All
of the 4-H’ers experienced the
interaction between citizens, lobby
groups and government officials
during the process of solving
controversial problems.
