The 21 X 42-foot silo was erected
this week by a crew from North
Penn Sealstor Systems, Inc., of
Bloomsburg.
"This is the first silo to be put up
with the Real Seal included in its
manufacture,” said Dan Rang, of
North Penn Sealstor.
“I understand another is going
up in New York State, too."
The familiar Real Seal, painted
in red, is included on the silo’s steel
panel which includes the farm
name.
Rarig credited the persistence of
Martin with the ADA as being
instrumental in getting the Real
Seal on the silo.
The Martins milk about 65 or 70
Holsteins on their farm. Martin is

Real seal silo

After moving to the farm in the
mid-70’s, they erected a dairy - bam
and began milking in 1977. This
past winter, they also constructed
a calf bam.
And between the dairy and calf
bams stands the new silo
As you turn off Colebrook Road
and drive up the lane, it shimmers
in the morning sun
The two owners proudly
welcome visitors with the con
traction of their names that make
up the identification for their dairy
operation.
And, likely even more, the silo
carries the Real Seal symbol that
amplifies that pride of being a
source of "real, wholesome and
nutritious dairy products "
