MANHEIM After an absence of a couple of years, l.an-I>ebco cows of Harold Witmer were back in the winner’s circle at the Manheim Fair’s dairy show on Thursday. Three years ago, Witmer swept top honors. A couple of years ago the dairy tent was ripped apart by a storm and the show was can celed. And last year, the Kulp brothers had the top honors. But this year, the Witmer cows returned with son, D. I-amar., doing the showing honors and dad staying home to handle the rigid ,1X milking schedule. Grand champion was a three \ ear-old, Lan-Lebo (the farm sets on the boundary of the two coun ties) Astro King Moonlite, who in her first lactation had nearly 19,000 lbs. Her dam was the reserve champ three years ago. The reserve champion was an aged cow Kit Builder Odarby, who milked over 20,000 as a four-year-old. Kit Builder, whose semen has now been used up, is the foundation sire of the Witmer herd. Witmer also had the junior champion.
