sitting tall in the saddle,
everything looks smaller-even
your troubles. At least that’s the
way it seemed to a group of han
dicapped youngsters taught to ride
by 4-H leader Katherine B. Inglee,
her daughter Elizabeth, and other
4-H members.

taking steps to start it again at a
different stable.
As a result of her efforts, Mrs.
Inglee has been selected to
represent Delaware at a national
4-H volunteer leaders' forum on
bringing the disabled into 4-H.
She’ll be at the National 4-H Center
in Washington, D.C. from October
17-22.
The conference, sponsored by
the E. Matilda Ziegler Foundation
for the Blind, Inc. and the Dr.
Scholl Foundation, will include
information on pet therapy, hor
ticultural therapy, and main
streaming the disabled into
regular 4-H activities Special
sessions will focus on com
municating with the handicapped,
relating to teens, and legislative
issues of concern to disabled
persons.
Field trips will take advantage of
the resources of the national
capital area, with visits to such
places as the Johns Hopkins Ap
plied Physics I>ab and Gallaudet
College
Mrs. Inglee and the represen
tatives from each of 26 other states
and Puerto Rico will develop plans
of action to use their newly
acquired skills to strengthen 4-H
programs for the disabled in their
home communities
