Jennifer was also awarded the Master Showman and Master Fitter rosettes. Reserve honors in the Holstein 4- H show went to 14-year-old C.E. Hubbard 111, New Cumberland, with his Semor two year old, Kowraygan Creek Lmuan Jean, a daughter of Creek Bluff Elevation Lester. Junior Champion honors went to an unbeaten junior yearling owned by Constanced Ohlmger, Mohr sville. The Ohlinger family was all smiles as Connie and Reu-Hel Farms Valient Cristy went to the top of the line over the first place senior yearling, C Houdale Tempo Racheal, owned and shown by Justin Doebnener who received Reserve Junior Champion. Brown Swiss Top honors in the Brown Swiss breed went to Lake Lane Fancy C owned and shown by Jeffrey Kennedy, Butler County. The son of James and Rita Kennedy, Jeffrey owns 7 animals and has been successful at the Farm Show with his Swiss. Reserve Championship Brown Swiss went to Kathleen Kopistecki, Royersford, with her entry, DN Delegate Dainty, a daughter of White Cloud Doreen’s Delegate. Winning comes easy for this pair as they had the 1982 Grand Championship here and Grand Champion in the Brown Swiss breed at the Farm Show for the past two years. Kathleen is the daughter of Stanley and Eleanor Kopistecki and they milk a mixed herd of Jerseys, Ayrshires, and Brown Swiss. Junior Champion Brown Swiss went to Welsh Ponderosa King Bobbi Jo, owned by Michael Welsh, Bast Berlin. Shown by a friend, Scott Cooper, since Michael was representing Pennsylvania 4-H at an engineering contest in Rich mond, senior calf, “Bobbi Jo”, was placed over the first place Junior Yearling shown by Alan Meyers who took the Reserve spot. Milking Shorthorn The Milking Shorthorn breed was well represented. Three Springs P.J. Bell, bred, owned and shown by Christine Young, Newville, was placed Grand Champion over Three Springs Lass, owned and shown by Blaine Benson. Christine’s parents, James and Linda Young were the breeders of the Reserve Champion and maintain approximately 100 milking animals on the Cum berland County farm. Kimberly Benson, Woodbury, proudly showed her two heifer entries to the Junior Championship and also the Reserve Cham pionship. The Junior Champions, Three Springs Charmin and Three Springs BR Jane, also bred by James Young, Jive with their 14- year-old owner on an all-purpose farm. Milk is used to feed veal calves as the Benson family keeps their animals as 4-H or FFA projects. Guernsey The Guernsey breed featured Co- Hill Farms B A Rainy, a junior 2- year-old and her 13-year-old owner, Racquelle Fava, Scenery Hill- Reserve Champion honors went to first tune winner here, Jon Guernsey grand champion and Racquefie Fava stand with Lee Yost, of Guernsey Assn. Deborah and Steven Shetterly are at halters of their grand and reserve Ayrshire champions. Milk' Milking Shorthorn champions are shown with Elaine Benson, left; and Christine Young. Zollers, whose aged cow, Foxie Spring Falcon Lady, was shown by his sister, Sherri. "Usually we get last place,” Shem exclaimed, “this was the first time any of our animals were very successful in the Junior Dairy Show.” Junior Champion honors went to Curtis Feathers of Bedford County with Jr. Reserve Champion going to Justin McMurrary of Washington County. Jersey In the Jersey breed, Manlyn Deaven and her aged cow. Faithful Advancer Coleen, were awarded the Grand Championship rosette. Manlyn owns 30 Jerseys and had purchased this Golden Faithful daughter as a calf. Reserve honors went to the 4-year-old entry of Douglas Martin, Chambersburg. Junior Champion rosettes were won by David Black, Saegertown, with his Junior Yearling daughter of Gramhil Observer Poet. Carol Oreisbach received Reserve Ayrshire Sh th ribbons with her senior yearling, a daughter of Secret Baronet, Ayrshire The Sbetterly siblings dominated the Ayrshire show with Deborah Shetterly, Millersburg, receiving the Grand with her senior 2-year old, Sycamore Meade Champ’s Luvie. Deborah also showed the Reserve Junior Champion, Sycamore Meade Lock’s Lovely, a maternal sister to the Grand Champion. Her brother, Steve, showed his 3-year-old, Sycamore Meade Champ’s Bessie, to Reserve Grand Championship honors. Referring to his sister, Steven said, “She’s been beating me like that all year.” The children of Donald and Sandra Shetterly, they explained that their grandfather picks their show animals out of their family’s ISO cow herd and has always picked the “right ones”.
