Pnor to the selection of the champion steer, the judge and former 4-H livestock member Ted Teaford had selected the following first placmgs in each weight class: Lightweight - Bridget Young, Schwenksville; Medmmweighl - Lem Fagan, Norristown; Medium Heavyweight - P.J. Kulp was selected first in the first year class; Tara Bernhardt, Harleysville, in the Junior clan and Phil McMahon, Green Lane, in the Senior group. P.J. Kulp won the champion fitter ribbon, while reserve champion was taken by Tara Bernhardt. While the 4-H members were parading the steers before the judge close attention was also given as to how they presented their animals. Among those selected in their age classes, champion showman was won by Steve McMahon.
