swept the steer show Wednesday at
West Lampeter Fair, winning
champion in the Future Farmers
of America division, champion in
the 4-H division and grand
champion of show.
Michelle, 17-year-old daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. William Dean,
Strasburg Rl, was participating in
the steer show for her ninth year.
The 1210-pound Angus-
Simmental-Limousine crossbred,
which won FFA honors, was the

The champion was born in
Dutchess County, N.Y. It was then
purchased by Fred Frey,
Quarryville, who sold it to Lan
caster County Agent Chester
Hughes, who sold it to Michelle.
Michelle’s 4-H winner was a 107&-
pound Angus-Chianana, purchased
from a farm in Virginia.
“My goal is to do well in
Harrisburg,” Michelle said, ad
ding, “I need the money for
college."
