Junior cattle clubs elect officers for 1984
event which became very popular.

the Jersey Junior meeting was the
upcoming tnp to Kentucky for
juniors and their animals that
qualifmg at the Junior Show
Organizing the state herd and the
tnp to the All-American in Ken
tucky is Robert Robison, President
of the Pennsylvania Jersey Cattle
Club. Robison stated that there will
be fewer animals going this year
because truck space will be
limited. Juniors will also be ex
pected to pay more of their own
way since funds are limited Cindy
Waltemyer, Collegeville, will be in
charge of the animals in Kentucky,
and juniors are encouraged to go to
show their own animals.
There was also a report on junior
Jersey activities and it was also
announced that 369 tickets were
sold for the calf raffle at the state
sale. Dr. and Mrs. Robert
Dreisbach, Hamburg, were again
thanked for donating the calf to the
junior club for this money raising
project.
The election of directors was
held and the new directors are:
District 1 - Julie Robison, District 2
- Jim Heeler, District 3, - Carol
Dreisbach, District 4 - Valene
Minor, District 5 - Jay Clark. They
were welcomed to the Board by
President Patricia Dreisbach,
Vice President, Jay Clark, and
Secretary, Jody Minor.
The Junior Guernsey meeting
was called to order by President
Jeffrey Benedict. Reports were
given on the summer activities
including the Fitting and Showing
workshop held in July, the Junior
Heifer Project, and the Ag
Progress Days Milkshake booth.
