logo winners
picked
LANCASTER There’s a lot of
interest in farmland preservation
in Lancaster County among a
group other than farmers.
That group Includes graphic
artists who entered a total of OS
designs in the logo contest con
ducted by the lancaater County
Agricultural Preserve Board.
I “We bad an excellent par
ticipation in the competition that
featured good art work.” ex
plained Alan Muaaebnan, ad
ministrator for the Preserve
Board.
“We first screened the entries
and then judged and rejudged until
we picked the top winners.
The first-place entry will be used
in a number of publications and in
various ways to provide identity
for the Preserve Board. ”
The top three winners honored at
the meeting of the Lancaster
County Commissioners on Wed-
nesday morning include:
First-place - Paul Snyder, 6475
Lemon Street, East Petersburg, an
artist for Lancaster Newspapers.
Second-place - Carolyn M.
Peifer, 300 Church St., LandisvlUe,

Third-place - Denny Bond, 102

Snyder’s winning logo depicted
land contours in the foreground
with a farm silhouetted in the
background.
“Moat of the logo is respresented
in the land since a farm is only as
good as its land." Snyder said.
In addition to the County
Commissioners and Musaebnan,
the winners were congratulated by
Amos Funk, of the Preserve
Board, which Judged the entries.
