MARKET COMMENT: Prices
unchanged. Distribution
movement as expected is brisk but
most dealers attribute this to short
week ahead. Many are concerned
as to conditions after checks are
spent, schools open and everything
returns to normal. Current sup
plies for the most part are
adequate to handle needs.

Delmarva Poultry
Thursday, September 1
Report supplied by USDA
Market Comment: Ready to
cook movement on whole birds is
fairly good in most quarters,
although on occasion some extra
product is available but, con
fidently held. Breast and cutlets
are well cleared and shippers are
finding it difficult to completely fill
orders. Legs and leg quarters are
moving well under an improved
demand. Wings are mixed but
demand is slightly better overall.
Giblets are well cleared. Slaughter
schedules are heavy. Live supplies
adequate at generally desirable
weights. Undertone fully steady to
firm.
Today’s L.T.L. asking prices are
.03 higher on U.S. Grade A at 57-81
cents.
