leading animal scientist reported
here recently.
Speaking at the. Buffers,

Symposium sponsored by- the
National Feed Ingredients
Association (NFIA) Kichard
Austic ol Cornell University said
that the proper balance of sodium,
potassium and chloride m the diet
can improve growth rale and egg
shell quality.
Studies cited by Austic indicate
that the optimum electrolyte
balance (Na + K - Cl l for chickens
is 200 to 250 millieqm valents per kg
of diet. Most practical rations
