The electric project i supported by Westinghouse Electric Cor poration at Pittsburgh, Pa. Carroll L. Howes, associate 4-H youth program director at Penn sylvania State University, said Luke was chosen on the basis of this 4-H project work, leadership abilities, and participation in county and state activities. Luke was chosen from over 100,000 youths who annually take part m Crossley named contest winner the Extension Service educational 4-H program. A Son of Mr. and Mrs. Samuel M. Crossley, 111, Luke will be a Luke Crossley sophomore at Coudersport Junior- Senior High School this fall. He has been a 4-H member for eight years. As a member of the Sparks 4-H dub, Luke has served as game leader, song leader, secretary, and president. He has also served as news reporter for his county council. Luke’s project have in cluded airplanes, sheep, han dyman, gardening, foods, small engines, backyard poultry, leadership, electric and vegetable gardening. On the county level, Luke has participated in 4-H camp, 4-H Roundup, Achievement Night, 4-H Kick-off parties, officers’ training, 4-H Livestock auction, fund raising sales, and the Leaders and Bankers Dinner.
