Dow Chemical has announced its award of a $50,000 grant to accelerate development of the Conservation Tillage Information Center. A Dow spokesman said the grant was intended to maintain the Center’s momentum m growth, draw wider attention to the Center and stimulate greater interest in conservation tillage. Conservation tillage is defined as those farming methods that main tain adequate plant cover on the land to conserve soil and water while enhancing the economic vitality of agriculture. “The Center is at a particularly crucial stage,” according to Kichard Foell, chairman of the Center’s Executive Committee.
