This year, the Expo will really bring the country to the city.” The Pennsylvania Agricultural Foods Exposition includes the freshest in September farm produce being sold by farmers from tailgate markets, and food products from some of the state’s finest food processors. Many visitors come just to sample these products and the variety of commodities represented by the state’s farm organizations. At the same tune, Hallowell noted, “The Exposition gives the consumer public a chance to learn why we say ‘Pennsylvania r« Lancaster Farming, Saturday, June 18,1983—A25 Agriculture—We’re Growing Better.’ "The Exposition has something for everyone—literally from ap ples to zucchini,” Hallowell said, “with a host of special events, exhibits, special surprises and money saving food demon strations.” A full line of entertainment is traditionally scheduled for the show, including a variety of live music ranging from bluegrass and country music to the sounds of yesterday. Children have a favorite spot at the Expo, too. They enjoy the farm animals and poultry on display, and even get a chance to feed the baby animals in the Expo Petting Zoo. It’s as educational as it is fun! But the highlight of the Penn sylvania Agricultural Foods Exposition is the food itself. Traditional favorites for Expo visitors are cheese and cracker snacks, delicious baked potatoes with a variety of toppings, fresh apple juice and milk shakes, fried mushrooms, and other Philadelphia area specialties. “The Pennsylvania Agricultural Foods Exposition, provides an excellent cross section of the state’s food industries,” Hallowell said. “I urge everyone to come to the Exposition, to leam about Pennsylvania agriculture and they’ll depart thinking Penn sylvania Grown...Mmmm, Home Sweet Home!”
