AVONDALE - The Chester
County Milk Promotion Committee
was on hand last weekend to
promote milk at Avondale’s
tricentenmal celebration. People
who came to the day’s celebration
to ride the tram, see cyclers on
antique bicycle? or whatever,
could also see and pet a Jersey cow
and calf, learn more about
dairying and dairy products, and
test their knowledge of the dairy
industry.
George Lamborne, who heads up
the promotion committee, manned
a table top exhibit with free recipes
and informational literature.
Lamborne has put together his own
billboard to promote milk that he
displays on the side of his truck
(see photo). Lamborne developed
a series of questions on dairy
farming and dairy products.
Anyone who answered the
questions correctly was awarded a
coupon for a discount at Landhope
