was High Meadow Farm of
LaFayette.
Other high selling female con
signments were: 4K WT Peggy 6P,
an April 1982 daughter of Walking
Tall, consigned by 4K Cattle Co.
and purchased at $l,BOO by Slitor
Hill Farm; a five-year-old
daughter of BT CL Domino 15G,
GGF Dommette 802 K consigned
by Green Gate Farms of Lewiston,
Pa. and purchased by Glen Knolls
of The Plains, Va.; a five-year-old
daughter of Vindicator, 4K Vinessa
13 K consigned by 4K Cattle Co.
and purchased at $1,300 by Slitor
Hill Farm; and an April yearling,
MF Vicki BK 2018, a grand
daughter of Victorious K 47 U 81,
consigned by Marshall Farms and
purchased at sl,ooo' by Eden
Farms of Farmersville Station.
The two bulls in the sale each
sold for $1,500. The Marshall
Farms consignment MF
Monument 1002, a two-year-old son
of Graystone Granite, was pur
chased by Burr-Ayr Farm of
Trumansburg. The E and R Farms
of Seneca Falls consignment
Gramts Pride was a June 1982 son
of Graystone Granite, and was
purchased by Card’s Maple Hill
Farm of McGraw.
All consignments were weighed
and measured before the sale and
all consignments under 18 months

quality grade of 13 and the
minimum for inclusion in the sale.
All of the performance information
was made available to the buyers
who were from all parts of New
York State, Pennsylvania and
Virginia.
John “Red” Shaw was the
auctioneer and complimented the
consignors on the quality of the
cattle and the manner in which
they were presented. Ernest
Smith, area coordinator for the
American Polled Hereford
Association, commented on
current economic conditions,
citing the “good commercial
market."
A R-S Hereford of Jasper con
signment of R S Roundup Maid F
408 with a bull calf at side was
purchased by Elaine Swiler of
Cameron who then donated the
cow and calf to the Cornell
University “Send A Cow to College
Program."
Announcement was made of the
Empire Polled Hereford
Association’s Sixth Annual Empire
Classic Show July 29-30 at the
Cortland Fairgrounds.
Robert Card of McGraw was sale
chairman. He was assisted by Carl
and Sue Haynes of Groton, Mike
Holden of Whitney Point, and
Jerry Mickelson of Newfield.
