Omaha Cattle Thursday, April 21 Report Supplied By USDA Weekly 51-CATTLE—Compared to last week’s closing sales, slaughter steers and heifers ended this week 50 cents to mostly 1.00 ration lower. Slaughter cows 2.004.00 lower and slaughter bulls 1.00-2.00 lower. Prices on fed cattle were under pressure even through day-to-day demand was fairly good. Sharply lower dressed beef prices com bined with a larger slaughter total were dominant factors for downward pressure on market. However, some of the downward pressure was eased somewhat as buyers of two-way cattle were active participants daily. Muddy cattle continued to show measureable numbers and were discounted accordingly. Steers comprised 54 pet of the week’s receipts; Heifers 28 pet, Cows 7 pet; Feeders 10 pet. Four day receipts 12,350 compared to 12,470 week ago and 10,600 last year.
