MARKET COMMENT: Prices
are generally unchanged.
Slaughter schedules are booked
solidly for the next week. However,
the week after next shows lighter
committments as traders tend to
await further development m shell
egg markets. Canner pack
movement is fair and generally
clears canner production.
Prices Paid at Farm: Light Type

MARKET COMMENT: Ready to
cook movement on whole birds
arranges from fair to occasionally
good, but overall demand has
slowed down and is somewhat
disappointing. Legs and wings
continue to struggle and discounts
are noted in most quarters.
Slaughter schedules are
moderately heavy. Live supplies
are fully adequate to ample.
Weights are irregular and at least
desirable. Undertone steady.
Today’s L.T.L. asking prices are
unchanged on U.S. Grade Aat43-46
cents however, an occasional load
of 3-3 Vz lb. sizes traded as low as 39
cents. .

Philadelphia Eggs
Thursday, April 14
Report supplied-by USDA
MARKET COMMENT: Prices
lower. Carton egg orders no better
than fair and movement
unaggressive. Extra large
irregular but fully adequate. Some
dealers note large and satisfactory
balance but majority find in
ventories in excess and hardly any
interest in these surplus stocks.
Mediums are adequate at best and
additional inquiry does exist for
this size. Smalls are tight with only
small lots available and generally
insufficient to completely fill
current interest. Interdealer
trading has shown a decline with
only regular committments
moving, as traders note that
receipts are sufficient for their
needs. Undertime unsettled.
Prices to retailers: Sales to
volume buyers, consumer grades
