Conference at the Penn Harris

ternoon, Gov. Thornburgh will
officially sign an Ag Day
proclamation for the Com
monwealth.
Across the border, Delaware
also will be honoring Ag Day as
Governor duPont signs a
statement declaring March 18 - 24
as Delaware Agricultural Week.
Locally, a National Agriculture
Week television special will be
shown, entitled “Who will farm the
land?” In Harrisburg, York,
Lancaster, and Lebanon, the show
will air at noon tomorrow.

celebration, usually coordinated
and presented by Penn’s Agri
Women, present a fruit basket to
the family of the first baby born in
their county on Ag Day.
According to the Agriculture
Day Foundation, the day will
feature hundreds of events, from
special events at shopping malls to
parades and parties.
More than 23 million people are
