York Calfarama sale held Tuesday
evening at the York Fairgrounds
with buyers Robert and Melva
Smith winning out with the top bid
of $2,300.

Evelation dam with records over
20,000 milk and 800 fat. Second dam
is a Very Good Kingstead Ivanhoe
daughter.
The Smiths, of Marrob Farm,
Tobaccoville, N. C. also took home
the second high seller, consigned
by Weim-Sharr Farm of New
Oxford.
Weim-Sharr Sexation Sally, an
October calf by Sexation, brought
$2,025. Her Very Good dam is

Remsburg, in appreciation for the sales firm’s five years of
assisting with the Adams-York consignment auction.

of Saltville, Virginia, were suc
cessful bidders on the third high
selling heifer, consigned by
Beshore Farms, New Cumberland.
A June-born calf by Sexation,
Beshore & Sexation Ivory brought
|1,825 and is from a Glendall dam,
with an Ivanhoe Star granddam.
Both nearest dams are scored VG
-87.
A total of 50 calves and heifers
went through the ring of the
Calfarama consignment sale,
averaging |804.60. It was the fifth
sale of the Calfarama series,
sponsored jointly by the Holstein
clubs of Adams and York counties.
Special presentations of cheese
gifts went to the top seller and
buyer, as well as to sale managers
Doty and Helen Remsburg of
Jefferson, Md., and a fifth-year
anniversary celebration party
climaxed the annual sale.
