AH interested persons are welcomed to join the tour, you do not have to be a club member to attend. The farms chosen for this year’s tour are all private operations, and each has a unique attraction. Tom stops will include the following farms. Lester Poust, Mun-Cre Farms, is the proud breeder of Mun-Cre Misty, a 92 point cow with 36,604 M, and 1532 F. Lester’s BAA is over 107 with 12 excellent cows. Ritter Ridge, a partnership of the Ritter Brothers, who farm a total of 700 acres to feed their stock. They milk in a newly built bam of unusual design which is 272 feet long with 98 tie stalls. Frank Jurbala, Fra-Jan Holsteins, has a herd of oustanding individuals with a herd average of over 21,000 pounds and a BAA of 106.1 to attest to that fact. Jurbala buys all of his feed which is strictly high moisture com and hay. Wolff is doing ex tensive ET work and as a result of this, at times, has over 100 calves on milk. Wolff farms 500 acres and retails 90 percent of his milk. A new heifer facility will be toured which includes an ET room. The last farm on the tour is owned by Dick Yule. Dick boasts a BAA of 107.1 and a herd average of over 19,000. He is the proud breeder of the popular Ace bull. The final feature of the day will be a family style ham and turkey dinner provided by a local United Methodist Church. The cost o/ the tour is $l9 per person and includes transportation and the evening meal. Bring your own noon meal to be eaten between stops on the bus. The tour will leave the Farm and Home Center at 8:15 a.m. and return home at approximately 8 to 8:30 p.m. Time is running out for registration, to reserve a place on the tour contact Nevin Dourte immediately at 655- 6449.
