Haenlein, a native of Manheim,
Germany, came to the U.S. in 1951
as a graduate student on an ex*
change scholarship. He has a M.S.
degree and a Doctorate of Science
degree in animal science from the
University of Stuttgart-
Hohemheim in Germany, and a
Ph.D. in dairy science and
biochemistry from the University
of Wisconsin.
Haenlein, now with the
University of Delaware, is an
internationally known authority on
the subject of animal nutrition. A
major portion of his education was
devoted to the study of the
nutritive value of various forages.
He has done research in milk
protein, milk and blood types in
dairy cattle and their relation to
milk production.
H. Louis Moore, agricultural
economist from Penn State, gave
his views on Reagonomics and the
ag economy. According to Moore,
