Slaughter Steers and Heifers
ended the week .20-.50 higher.
Cows 2.00-3.00 higher. Bulls steady.
What little zest noted in fed
cattle trading mainly attributed to
continuing short live inventories in
packer bands. Trading generally a
forced business with most buying
being done to satisfy immediate
slaughter needs. An early week
upturn in the dressed beef trade
vanished at mid-session and a
bearish tone prevailed at the close
of fed cattle trading. Mud con
tinued to present problems in the
trade although dressing per

provement Cows moved sharply
