The date to mark is Tuesday, July 19. “Pennsylvania Forage and Dairy Day,” as the event is called, will concentrate on forage production, handling, and feeding. Organizers of the one-day ac tivities envision a variety of educational exhibits ranging from actual field demonstrations, crop comparisons, nutrient analysis, feed values, DHIA record-keeping, and much more. The Pennsylvania Holstein Association and Pennsylvania Forage and Grassland Council are at the forefront of organizing the unique event. Progress Days, the annual ag extravaganza that attracts tens of thousands of visitors to Penn State’s research farm during August. Forage and Dairy Day will concentrate on educational exhibits and demonstrations designed to make dairymen more aware of the potential of forages. The purpose is to make forage production more efficient while bringin utilization close to op timum levels. The day’s activities will fallow forages “from field to cow.” Forages will be harvested during the day, analyzed at the site and AT Big Flats. N.Y.
