ORWIGSBURG - “Don’t look
into the valley, look for your next
goal,” Bruck Latshaw, State FFA
Chaplain, told the gathered FFA
members and parents.
His remark summed up the
attitudes of the FFA’ers at the
Blue Mountain FFA Awards
Banquet on Thursday, Feb. 24, at
the high school in Orwigsburg.
Taking top honors of the evening
was Jeff Shoener who was named
Chapter Star Farmer. Tran
sferring from Pine Grove in order
to participate in the FFA program
at Blue Mountain, this junior
exemplified the qualities essential
for the award.
“Jeff had the best attitude,
served on the most committees,
and gave the most of himself,”
according to advisor, Charles
Heim. Jeff also received a plaque
for the first-place Foundation
Award in crop production.
