Slaughter Steers and Heifers
ranged .25-.50 lower with the
deldne coming on Monday. Later
trade finned up as carcass prices
stabilized and bozeji-beef
realizations advanced. Reduced
direct purchases from counfry
points kept many packer in
ventories on the short side; con
sequently, terminal demand was
good throughout the week.
Numbers of ‘short-feds’ continued
to increase, while numbers of Y.G.
4 on the decrease. Numerous
muddy cattle still being marketed
and discounted accordingly. Cows
firm to 1.00 higher. Bulls fully
steady.
Steers comprised 46 pet. of the
week’s receipts; Heifers 39 pet;
w Cows 9 pet; Feeders 5 pet. Four
