    , Spring Bottom Farm captures top Polled Hereford title
FARM SHOW Spring Bottom
Farm of R 2 Fairfield in Adams
County, captured the grand
championship title in the Polled
Hereford heifer Judging com
petition, while Graystone FM and
Lurose Eat of R 1 Schellsburg,
Bedford County, captured the
comparable title in the bull
competition.
Spring Bottom Farm’s winner,
SBF Royal Duchess 8115, a Junior
yearling, was also Judged the
show’s junior heifer champion.
Duchess is sired by Enforcer
107 H, out of TCP Miss Gainersoos.
Frank and Becky Darcey,
owners of the 300-acre Spring
Bottom Farm, have been com
peting at Farm Show for the past
eight years. Last year they left the
show ring with the grand champion
bull award as well as five heifer
class championships. This year
they also received the coveted title
of premier exhibitor.
| Graystone Farm’s winning bull,
Graystone Engraver, is a senior
yearling and was named the
show’s senior bull champion.
Engraver, bom November, 1960,
is sired by Enforcer 10th, out of GS
Domestic Lass 63.
WHF Clementine BN, a junior
yearling heifer owned by Spring
Run Farm of Abbottstown in York

and Faith Peterson and was shown
by their 17-year-okl son Eric. They
have about IS Polled Herefords on
their Spring Run Farm and ha\ o
been showing at Farm Show for 6
years. Last year they received the
bull calf championship.
The reserve grand champion
bull and the bull calf champion,
JVF Samuel, a spring yearling,
was exhibited by JV Farm of
Douglassville in Berks County.
Samuel was sired by Klondike
Banner 469 L out of FLF Victoria
81173.
The heifer calf champion, JDH
Victress 1967, a senior calf and the
Junior champion bull, HHF Deacon
25L57N, were exhibited by JDH
Polled Herefords of R 2 Dover in
York County.

Moore wins champion Chianina title again

FARM SHOW Eugene Moore,
14-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs.
Larry Moore of R 1 Warriors Mark
in Centre County, repeated his
championship performance this
year by capturing the grand
champion heifer title at Wed
nesday’s Chianina show.
Moore won the same title at the
Farm Show’s first Chianina show
in 1960.
This year his entry, M’s Miss
Mayflower, sired by Rossini, sout
of Nittany Princess 107, also
earned him the champion yearling
title.
Reserve grand champion title
went to Jamie Kohr of York in
York County.
Jamie’s entry. Miss KF Silver
Streak, was out of H-MF Miss
Lombard, and won her the calf
championship as well.
Doug Moore, also of R 1 Warriors
Mark, won the reserve champion
yearling title with his entry, M’S
Miss Magic, sired by Lombard, out
of Seven L Miss 312PLD.
