Cl FARM SHOW So many times, former 4-H’ers indirectly reap the benefits of their first project heifer and Tuesday, Cindy Rutter of York was no exception. Rutter’s 3-year-old Housleys Dari Fayvor daughter, who clinched the Grand Champion Guernsey title, was the last female calf out of Rutter’s first project cow, Rutter Brothers C Beth. The Beth cow was born' on Cindy’s 10th birthday and had produced four daughters and more than 100,000 pounds of milk lifetime. Rutter’s champ, Rutter Brothers Fayvors Buffy recorded more than 14,000 pounds of milk as a fresh heifer and currently is milking more than 70 pounds daily. In addition, the 'champ earned Reserve. Jason Ivctc, 8, of Bentleyville, Washington County was too young' for 4-H competiton but old enough to garner the Junior Champion title with his junior yearling heifer in open classes. Jason is the son of Steve and Jan Ivcic. Twin Brook Premier Merry Babe got the winning nod from show judge Mike Stiles, Clear- Sycamore Meade posts Ayrshire victories her aged cow class. Her paternal sister Albi Brita stood second in the aged cow division but moved on to capture the Reserve Champion title. Sycamore Meade’s homebred champion Sycamore Meade Champs Ester collected a blue ribbon in her junior yearling class and later bested the competition to claim the Junior Champion title for owner Sherry Keefer.
