"A farm planning meeting consists of a review of the farm’s natural resource and a discussion of the farm er’s objectives”, states Joe FUanowski, a soil conservationist at the Lancaster Soil Conservation Field Office. “From the meeting, a farm plan is developed which con tains the farmer’s decisions on soil con servation measures’ ’. Such measures may be terraces, diversions, waterways, tile drainage, contour strips and manure holding facilities. The Soil Conservation Service provides free technical assistance for these and other conservation measures. Also several of these conservation practices are eligible for cost-sharing funds from the Agricultural Stabilization and Conservation Service.
