“Help Discover Pennsylvania’s
Past” was developed by the
Pennsylvania Historical and
Museum Commission and the
Society for Pennsylvania Ar
chaeology as part of an effort to
help citizens understand and
preserve the prehistoric and ar
chaeological heritage of the
Commonwealth.

for Pennsylvania Archaeology are

evening. Rosene said, “I think it
helps them to have responsibility.
It shows that everything is not Just
handed to them. The farm is the
best place to raise kids. They have
to work and they get to know
responsibility.”
Rosene is one of those girls who
said she’d never marry a farmer,
but now she’s glad she did. She
readily admits, “It’s so different
from when I was a youngster.”
Angie is a member of several 4-H
clubs and Steve will Join this year.
They both take organ lessons.
A member of Farm Women
Society 9, Rosene is also a member
of St. Luke’s Church where the
children are in the choir and the
Senior and Junior Luther League.
Rosene is plenty busy without
working off the farm and without
getting more involved in the far
ming operation. She likes to sew.

The booklet contains a com
pilation of recreational areas
administered by the Department
of Environmental Resources.

In the summer, much of her time
is taken up with a large garden,
and she enjoys canning and
freezing the produce.
Looking forward to the honor for
Harold and Donald next week,
Rosene says, “I think it is the most
exciting thing that’s happened
since we got married and had kids.
I helped put together the ap
plication so I know the work that
went into it.’’
Donald is no stranger to awards,
having won many over the years
for production and other
achievements on the farm, but
Rosene concludes, “He has proven
to himself that all the years of
work paid off. This is just the icing
on the cake.”
