The club, based in the Manheim area, recognized 4-H members for their outstanding work done in the 1982 year. Praising members for their work “above and beyond the call of duty,’ ’ leader Kendy Allen told how - members of the club and their families built a riding ring in a day. Those who helped in the project included: Brooke Karsnitz, Lesa and Lee Guthrie, Tom, Melissa, Michelle, and Tommy Harris, Tom and Vickie Creighton, Dick, Pat, Julie, and Troy Adams, Karen Enck, Keith, Kendy, and Andy Allen, and Jim, Carolyn, Yvonne and Yolanda Peters. James Peter donated the land for the ring’s use, and also supplied all lumber needed to build the ring. The ring will be ued by the club for horse shows and other activities. Four members of the club had ridden in the Manheim Halloween parade and were recognized: Yolanda Peters, Andy Allen, Yvonne Peters, and Lesa Guthrie. Members who had ridden on an overnight trail ride in October were awarded patches.
