Douglas B. Beegle, left. Extension agronomist at Penn
State, was recipient of the 1982 New Worker Extension
Award presented by the Pennsylvania chapter of Epsilon
Sigma Phi, national honorary extension fraternity. Presenting
award is Robert N. Houston, Columbia County Extension
director, awards committee chairman. The award is
presented to a member of the Cooperative Extension Service
staff with two or less years of service and who has conducted
outstanding educational programs. Beegle was cited for his
soil fertility work and the development of effective teaching
aids to assist with his programming., A native of Roaring
Spring, Beegle was named to the Extension staff in March
1981.
