Cumberland County Dairy Herd Improvement records show
that 7,233.6 cows in 119 herds were on production testing in
August according to Duane G. Duncan, County Agent. Of the
97 herds on DHIA, 33 herds had an average fat production of
600 pounds. During the month 130 complete their 305 lac
tation with 650 lbs. of butterfat. DHIA Supervisors working
with the dairyment to improve efficiency include Harold
Boldosser, 130 Old Gap Road, Carlisle, Paul Wynn, RDffl,
Box 88, Newburg, Jay Zeigler, R.D #l, Carlisle, and John
Rolar, R.D.H2, Newville. The following are the highest of actual
butterfat in 305 days or less in the county during the month
