Quadraseai double row tapered roller beatings of
fer more capacity than single row ball bearings.
With this extra capacity, the probability of over
loading—even when discing at maximum angle
—is virtually eliminated. The double-tow bearing
has a triple-lip seal that runs on a hardened, pol
ished surface and has a heavy steel seal protect
ing washer to protect the seal from damage due to
wire and trash. Between the steel washer and the
seal is a cavity filled with grease—an additional
sealing element against dirt. The double-tow ta
pered roller bearing is mounted into a rugged cast
iron housing which is trunnion-mounted to a
spring bearing hanger. As the trunnion-mounted,
beating housing pivots, the bearings and axles re
main in perfect alignment and the gangs roll freely.'
