MANHEIM The Manheim
farm Show had a special visitor on
Thursday.
Hp was Loren W. Beasor,;o£
Ottard Park, N.Y., who is a
professional ag fair goer.
The Manheim. Farm Show
marked his 114th agricultural fair
this summer.
Since mid-June, he’s already
logged some 23,000 miles of driving
to and from ag fairs in New York,
Pennsylvania, Ohio and Canada.
And he’s not done yet.

The Kulp cows also had the two
top udder placings in the com
petition Thursday.
The brothers have some 16 head
between them. Both have par
ticipated in 4-H and FFA.
The Kulp dairy farm totals some
78 milkers and about 70 heifers. -
In Brown Swiss competition,
Kerry Boyd, R 3 Ephrata, exhibited
a string of animals and had all but
one of the entries in competition.
There were only two Ayrshires,
with Ed Brassier, R 2, Manheim,
sweeping.
In all, there were some 100 en
tries in the Holstein competition at
Manheim, which boasted the
largest overall 'livestock com
pertition of all local fairs this year.

Beasor is a retired carpenter for
the Buffalo Raceway. But he still
helps at maintenance and putting
bleachers -together for the Erie
County Fairgrounds.
/ He just can’t seem to get away
' from fairs.
Is his 1982 fair attendance a
world record?
“I got in touch with Guiness, but
they say that you need a com
petitor to set a record,” he said.
So, are there any competitors out
there?
‘fair

still alive,“ he said.
“We went to 13 that year.
“And it just sorta has grown
since then.”
For example in 1975, he went to
25; t 065 in 1975 and 89 in 1976. .
, But 1982 is his best year yet.
After a tour of the exhibits-and
animals at-Manheim - his, 114th
fair since June 19 - he was off to
Unionville. And he wants to tut
Dillsburg, too. /

Monday night

Last year, Donna served as alternate-to the Lancaster
County Poultry Queen. Her family has an 85,000-pullet
operation.
